The beauty world's worst kept secret

Coconut oil. It's all the rage but let's be real... It actually works. I started using it because I heard that it's better for you nutritionally, and who wouldn't want to get the best benefits from what you're putting in your body? I love the taste, the smell, the smoothness- YUM. But I honestly got over it as far as eating is concerned because it was tons of work trying to add to my diet. I don't eat enough oil to begin with so I found I was changing my whole diet trying to incorporate it. If you do though, definitely give it a shot!

Beauty products though? Those are right up my alley. I've tried EVERYTHING! For my regular face wash I use Ocean Salt by Lush. I love the way it smells, feels while you're washing, and the results I got. Recently I tried Beauty Counter's products and texture wise they were really similar so I'd definitely recommend giving those a try as well. ANYWHO. What prompted me to start scrubbing my face with oil....? I honestly just heard so much about it and had to see what would happen. I use it now as a make up remover. It's the best thing out there. I just take a little bit, rub it in my palms and apply it to my whole face. Then grab a tissue, cotton balls, whatever (just make sure you aren't scratching your skin) and remove all that gunk! It works like a charm!

P.S. ew.... Thank goodness for coconut oil!

Célfie

So today I had a great experience and got to go to a training for my side job! I'm a wellness coach through Herbalife and I love the opportunities it has given me! (For more info on that feel free to contact me: herbalife.meg@gmail.com) Anywho, I obv needed to get all dolled up.

I chose to wear my fav T that mocks the well known Céline T, and it could not be more appropriate considering the amount of pics I take. I got these great cropped skinny trousers at H&M, and lastly my suede tan wedges. I wanted to make a statement without going overboard!

This Kate Spade bag was a GREAT addition because of how well it complements the trousers and adds more color to this rainy day!

Stay dry Boston!

Chiffon

It's an art form it really is... People struggle every day to make sheer work. Let's be real we ALL notice when it doesn't. The best way to do it? SUBTLY. Let's not look cheap ladies!
This shirt is a double whammy... White AND sheer. But of course, I'd never choose anything that shows more than a shadow. This fabric is great because it can be dressed up or down so I def recommend investing in a couple of quality go to pieces! I love the peasant cut of this shirt and that I can match it with ANYTHING!

especially my Sam Edelman flats with bows on the toes (;

Spring had sprung

I can't get enough of these spring fashions! It's time to pump up the color and play with patterns! So of course, coral and leopard print was this girl's first go-to. This sweater is from Anthropologie (let's be real they've perfected sweaters for women---no boxy shapes here!). That, paired with Levi's, H&M flats, leopard scarf, my standard Longchamp and Lilly Pulitzer tumbler of to school I go.
If there's one thing I love, it's girl world so the crocheted "lace" trim on the sweater makes me PRETTY happy! Enjoy the colors and get creative there ladies!!!

Accents

Happy "it's almost warm" everyone! This winter has been soooo long and I couldn't be happier it's finally coming to an end. Not only does this mean no lugging around heavy coats and freezing walking to class at 8am but it's also time for some fun new fashions!

Introducing the boyfriend T. This entire outfit (minus accessories) is from H&M aka the modern day, reasonably priced Chanel (check out the book "The Gospel According to Coco Chanel"). I loved the bagginess  of this T and that I could tuck it into my fav maroon jeans. Always accent though! The outfit would be le boring without a Betsey Johnson leopard print belt and, custom made from The Different Drummer boutique in Wickford, RI, skull necklace.

Enjoy the sun out there dolls and remember to stay unique and accessorized!

Beauty Counter

Recently I was given a GREAT opportunity to try a wonderful, new to me, skin care line. The woman had me at "all the Victoria's Secret Angels use it". Anyways, Beauty Counter is seriously one of the best things that has happened to these pores. I used the products for about a week and the day after I stopped couldn't wait to jump on board and order them for myself. My favorite product that I tried was the exfoliator. I love that scrubbing feeling but sometimes feel like my face is getting ripped apart. This products did not give me that reaction AT ALL. It was sooooo well balanced with a light super pleasant scent!

If you're interested in giving it a shot be sure to comment below and I can put you in touch with a distributor!

All the products to sample came in this cute little pouch. The best part??? That's SIX months worth of awesome skin care!

Oscars 2014

Good morning Everyone! Alright... We all saw it and we all formed our opinions about who wore what best and so on... But lets be real. What were some of these people thinking? The best and worst dressed lists I have seen this year are somewhat unexpected. There are definitely those who I thought would do a great job showing off their sense of style, and others who I hoped would just look put together enough to be on the red carpet (thanks to their stylist of course). I am very surprised though by what I saw. First of all, I'm not a fan of Jennifer Lawrence at all. I think she's overrated and makes girls feel bad about themselves by referring to herself as a "bigger" girl when she's clearly not. That being said she did look good.

The Betches (betcheslovethis.com) referred to her as a "Swedish Fish". I mean okay, I see where they're coming from. She looks SO elegant though. Her look was classic, but up to date with her necklace hanging down her back (here). I was not expecting to see her in red. I think it was a bold statement though, and certainly no one missed her while she was falling onto the carpet. The peplum waist on the dress accentuates her figure and the neckline brings added sophistication. She was definitely one of the better dressed that night. Other looks that stood out to me were Lupita Nyong’o (this girl looked absolutely stunning!), Anne Hathaway (talk about ROCKING Gucci), and Kristen Chenowith (this Broadway star looked fantastic in Roberto Cavalli-I want that dress).

Next up, Penelope Cruz... WHY?! It's the Oscars, not a tea party. The dress she chose covers up her shape and her body that I’m sure she works so hard for. The color is almost childish and by tying a black bow around her waist, okay I’ll give her that it shows her shape a little bit, but it also emphasizes the extremely youthful look to her outfit. This woman is absolutely stunning. She could have looked SO much better! Penelope is lucky, she can wear bold colors or neutrals and still maintain her elegance and sophistication. She has worn black, navy, deep purples, etc. and still looked so lively and quite frankly hot. I don’t know what possessed her to try something this different on such a big night. I hope she learned though that pastels are clearly not her thing. It would have been great to see her in a dress like the one Jennifer Lawrence is wearing. That color would have looked great against her skin and dark hair! Instead, she is now on the top of everyone's worst dressed list, and I'm hoping regretting her choice entirely.

Penelope was definitely not the only one who flopped that night though. Some of these stars need to get a third, or hundredth, opinion on what they are going to be wearing. The entire world is seeing them and judging by how many people are making these best/worst dressed lists, they are seriously being watched!

I'm curious to hear who was on everyone else's best/worst dressed list! Comment below with some of your favs, and some outfits I'm sure you wish were burned.
